Description: French pendulum clock, originating from Paris and decorated with burr walnut veneer and brass applications. Its creation dates back to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, corresponding to the Art Nouveau style or Belle Époque. The dial bears the literal inscription 'A LA RENAISSANCE' (At the Renaissance) 47-49 Bᶷᴰ Sᵀ MARTIN PARIS. This text refers to the Parisian clockmaking house or shop A La Renaissance, which was located at Boulevard Saint-Martin 47–49 in Paris. The shop specialized in the sale and custom production of interior clocks. The mechanical movement of these clocks is of a classic type with two winding holes. The right hole is used for winding the timekeeping mechanism, while the left is for winding the striking mechanism, which chimes on the half and full hours. The movement's construction is firmly attached to a wooden frame inside the case using metal pillars and other components, which are visible beneath the dial. Clock functionality not tested.
